Firehawk Aerospace Closes Oversubscribed $60 Million Series C Round
Firehawk Aerospace has successfully closed an oversubscribed $60 million Series C funding round. Led by 1789 Capital, which counts Donald Trump Jr. among its partners, participants included Draper Associates, Decisive Point, Stellar Ventures, and the notable addition of strategic European investor, Presto Tech Horizons (PTH), among others.
PTH’s participation bridges American innovation with European industrial capabilities and reflects growing European interest in bolstering defense supply chain autonomy, particularly with regards to munitions and energetics manufacturing. Will Edwards, CEO of Firehawk, stated, “The conflict in Ukraine demonstrates that although drones provide tactical advantages, munitions such as missiles and rockets remain central to combat effectiveness.”
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Firehawk Aerospace is known for pioneering a scalable method for 3D printing solid rocket propellants. Conventional approaches, involving lengthy casting and curing processes, are typically slow, hazardous, and lack flexibility. In contrast, Firehawk’s additive manufacturing technology substantially accelerates production, reducing timelines by over 99 percent, according to the company.
The Series C round represents a significant milestone in advancing Firehawk’s innovative 3D-printed energetics technology to scale. Firehawk is constructing a 340-acre production complex in Lawton, Oklahoma and maintains testing facilities in West Texas, including access to a 30-square-mile private launch range. The company’s market proposition, centered on expedited production, improved safety, and supply chain adaptability, addresses the needs of allied nations seeking to enhance their domestic defense industries. Firehawk’s recent financing well-positions the company for expansion in Europe.
“Since the early 2010s, scientists and engineers have explored 3D printing as a way to unlock faster, safer, and more flexible solid propellant production. Firehawk is the first to truly deliver on that promise. They combine rapid manufacturing with complex grain designs that were once impossible, improving performance while enabling distributed production at scale. Firehawk’s technology doesn’t just speed up how propellants are made – it fundamentally reshapes the supply chain for missiles and rockets. That’s why this partnership is so important for Europe’s defense resilience,” said Matej Luhovy, newly appointed Partner at Presto Tech Horizons.
